Utah County Commissioner switches party affiliation

Utah County Commissioner switches party affiliation

**UPDATE – Commissioner Graves has switched his affiliation back to Republican after this story was published and he returned later that day to the County offices. He told people he switched to Democrat to see if “the Republican Party was paying attention.”

Interesting development in Utah County.

Utah County Commissioner Greg Graves, who was elected 3 years ago, has switched his party affiliation to Democrat.

You may recall that Commissioner Graves was caught in the Ashley Madison sting a few years ago. (http://fortyfivepolitics.com/utah-county-commissioner-admits-to-using-ashley-madison-but-denies-having-affair/)

A search of the voter file confirms that Mr. Graves is a Democrat.

If Mr. Graves were to resign at this point his replacement would then come from the Utah County Democratic Central Committee.

Mr. Graves confirmed that he switched affiliation to Democrat and did not want to share why he switched parties.
